Vintage Asian Lacquer Hand Painted Pen Box.
A rare vintage original 100% hand painted lacquer pen box having authentic scenes of noblemen on horseback with other ethnic figures. Organically decorated with birds and various flowers. Very whimsical with the expressions on the faces of the figures and vibrant with the colors of the flowers. The birds are songbirds; that is how fine the decoration is as you can see the birds in a singing motion. No breaks, chips, or cracks. The pen box opens and closes nicely. All hand made and painted. A vintage original. Minor wear consistent with age giving it the antique patina that you want to see on such a collectable piece.
