Antique Oval Grand Salon Estate Painting 1880 Framed.
A large palace Size original listed artist grand salon painting measuring almost 5' tall including frame. From a long Island, ny gold coast estate depicting an important society lady of the period. Very good condition overall with a small patch repair which I point to in one of my images. Signed and dated 1880. Friends, this painting is the real deal, guaranteed from 140 years ago in an antique frame. The frame has some touch ups and normal scratches and minor scuffs. The painting itself is remarkably in good condition with a striking detailed image of an obviously wealthy beautiful woman of the period. The artist, surely a master painted with such grace and execution that you can feel the kind expression on the face of this society lady. Striking red dress on the woman with laced decoration on her sleeves and bosom. Painted so well that you can see the creases on her dress. Painting has some crackleure consistent with age and all kinds of impressed Paris marks on the back indicating expensive canvas and stretcher bars. This grand salon painting will go very well in a decorative setting of a manor house or mansion that has antiques such as sevres, urns, and belle epoque bronze gilt candelabras. I will be a listing a Meissen porcelain centerpiece in the future.
