The Beijing Fly Dragons AKA the Beijing Enterprises Water Group Fly Dragons AKA Beijing Beikong Fly Dragons will probably be Stephon Marbury's final professional basketball team in his illustrious 21 year career as he has declared his retirement. After honing his skills on the mean courts of Coney Island and the powerhouse Abraham Lincoln H.S., Marbury was a star at Georgia Tech, leaving for the NBA after one year where he was a 2 time all star and Olympic medalist. Next he moved to the Chinese Basketball Association where he is widely considered the greatest foreign born player in history. Marbury is revered in China, a statue of him recently being unveiled outside the Olympic arena in Beijing. In fact, Marbury credits his success to Chinese culture, which he says is "filled with love, compassion, and care".
The Beijing Fly Dragons previously played in Guangzhou and Chonqqing and along with the 3 time champion Beijing Ducks are the two Chinese Basketball Association teams of that vast metropolis. Marbury played with inspiration in his farewell season, showing he still had spark in an altercation with fellow American Jimmer Fredette, and doing his best to change his team's "Beijing's 2nd team" status, ala the Clippers or the Mets.
P.S. On February 11, 2018, Marbury played his final game in the CBA, scoring 20 points in a 104–92 win over the against the Jiangsu Dragons, and announced his retirement after the game ended.
