This fine 19th century marble sculpture is the finest of its kind, all hand carved with the masterful depiction in marble of natural hair by precision chisel technique. Real hair is not perfectly symmetrical and the master artist created the effect of real hair which has different waves, curls, and weaves. There are no damages or repairs.

Antique 19th century Russian marble sculpture of a young czar or a young aristocrat having lifelike details and a pretty smile with extraordinary carvings all around. Highest quality marble and natural pose with a happy expression on the the boy's face. No damages, breaks, cracks, or chips. Artist signed on back measuring 18" tall and 12" wide. A sculpture similar to pieces at Hermitage museum as well as other museums worldwide displaying fine Russian antiques.
