This large pair of celeste blue and gold gilt decorated hand painted urns are the crown jewel of the collection. The paintings on each urn are big and the girls depicted are absolutely gorgeous young women, supermodels of the 19th century. Maybe women of nobility. The hand painting is extremely precise, natural and masterful where you can see each strand of hair painted. One girl has auburn hair and the other is a brunette. Each portrait is Signed on the porcelain by the artist in gold. The urns are large and they are a perfect matching pair with their original bases. Hand painted porcelain. The urns sitting on top of each base. As well as their original covers or tops. Very unusual to find everything matching and correct. Minor gold wear on the handles and corners with no restorations no cracks and no breaks. The finials are cast in bronze and gilded ormolu.
