A one of a kind complete never seen before antique French opaline egg box. Having all its original gilt accessories with tube original velvet place holders for the thimble and miniature scissors and everything else. It's all there. Friends, it is really a miracle that this example survived over 150 years with all its original articles intact and not damaged! The egg is brilliant jade opaline French green glass not stained or damaged in any way with a wonderful smooth texture when you run your fingers over it. All original gilt mounts hand made with little feet to make it hover and the box egg snaps shut perfectly and you can hear a nice click when you close it. The 150 years old green matching velvet which has place holders for each instrument can be taken out if you wish to use this egg as a jewel box to store a diamond ring for instance. Much like an antique fabergè egg, this is a highly collectible objet d'art. No chips or cracks. In all original condition.
