Antique Chinese Carved Lamp.
An antique original Chinese 100% hand carved sculptural lamp having exquisite detail with masterful workmanship depicting a Chinese scholar holding an object of Vertu. This was a 125 year old or older antique sculpture from a Chinese artist which was converted into a lamp in the 1930's. There is an antique carved base which was added in the 1930's and a gilt gold metal base with Chinese motif also antique added to make it into a lamp. The lamp works. The carved stone base has some cracks and the sculpture itself has a crack which I point to in one of my pictures. The figure has a hole which is used to hold the lamp arm on its back. A great overall look. The carved stone itself is extremely finely made, maybe even worthy of being displayed in a museum.
