Guernica, one of Picasso's most famous works, is regarded as one of the most moving antiwar paintings of all time. The Basque country town of Guernica was bombed by the Nazis and Fascists in 1937. Picasso painted it the same year, and it was displayed at the Paris International Exposition of 1937.
